At this time, while this is a remote position, only applicants within the greater Phoenix, Arizona geography will be considered.
Position Summary: Responsible for meeting the sales and profit goals within assigned territory with a focus on Weidmüller’s automation and IIoT portfolio including PLCs, distributed IO products, power supplies, network switches, IoT gateways, IPCs, HMIs and software/cabinet products. This positions supports growth of Weidmüller’s automation ecosystem and will work with Division Leaders, distribution partners, customers and field sales teams to expand product value proposition.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage, develop, expand and close sales opportunities to meet or exceed sales goals for Weidmüller’s automation & IIoT portfolio.
- Establish and maintain channel partner relationships through on-going communications, sales and IIoT/automation product training.
- Develop and implement effective sales plans by assigned accounts across a geographic territory.
- Develop quotations, project layout, demonstrations and competitive comparisons.
- Provide field market intelligence such as competitive information and market trends.
- Participate in and support regularly scheduled territory reviews with authorized distributors.
- Provide technical and commercial support to channel partners and customers.
- In conjunction with the Sr. Director of Sales, report and coordinate all sales and marketing activities within the territory.
- Qualify and follow-up on all leads within assigned territory, Industry segment and/or account portfolio.
- Fully utilize CRM as a communication, reporting, and measurement tool to enhance productivity.
- Participation in local, regional, and international meetings.
- Ensures thorough familiarity with and compliance to all Environmental, Safety and Security Policies while performing assigned duties in accordance with those policies.
- Conducts tasks in accordance with applicable health, safety, quality, environmental and security regulations (state/federal laws, ISO 9001, CFR 1910 OSHA) as well as Company policies and procedures.
- Responsible for notifying your direct supervisor, manager and/or a member of the Executive Staff of any risks associated with the Quality Management System.
- All other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Track record of building/growing industrial automation sales with Fortune 500 companies.
- Demonstrable examples of lead generation, exceeding sales targets and building commercial relationships
- Strong understanding of how to sell industrial automation systems, IIoT and industry 4.0
- Strong background in automation control systems
- Strong understanding of PLC programming or operation
- Knowledge of IIoT applications and related cloud architecture
- Experience with cloud services Saas, PaaS, AWS and Azure architectures
- Demonstrated experience with time management, communication and negotiation skills
- Professional and effective verbal and written communication skills including polished presentation skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft 365: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
- Ability to travel extensively throughout assigned territory.
Educational & Experience Requirements
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED
- Bachelor’s degree. Engineering/technical focus preferred.
- Technical training preferred
- Previous experience selling industrial, electrical, or electronic components.
- Previous experience working with industrial distribution, OEMs, and system integrators.
Travel Requirements & Physical Demands
- Must be able to travel up to 50% of time as dictated by assigned territory (including overnight).
- Must be able to travel via airplane.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to operate an automobile for up to six hours at a time.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. (samples, demos, literature)
